But there’s a catch and the following reasons have to be taken under consideration before purchasing a pre-built template.

  • The code structure and technique is way too complex and outdated – when a search engine crawl your site it will probably encounter difficulties reading the code due to all kinds of unnecessary tags, use of non standard elements etc. SEO friendly code like the ones offered at web development companies or PSD to XHTML service providers is always better because every bit of code is written with search engine visibility in mind.
  • Pre-built templates rarely let you edit the source code. Meaning you will not be able to make fine tunings or add more functionality if needed.
  • SEO is major aspect for your online success and SEO friendly code is the first and crucial step in SEO, these templates are not designed to be SEO friendly and did not developed under SEO friendly code guidelines.
  • Originality? There’s a good chance that other companies might be using the same template, a strong individual identity is necessary for you to stand out in the crowed.
